Yet again I didn’t post this at the start of the week, in fact I think I am going to have to change it to the week past rather than ahead.  I never seem to know what I am going to do in advance so it would be better to keep a record of what has happened instead.

Monday was in work MrR had to rush around getting his car ready for its second MOT and this included phone calls asking about bulbs, wipers and a last-minute trip to book it into the mechanics for a service light.

Tuesday morning saw me up bright and early at 04:00 to go on the early flight to Birmingham to do some training I am always petrified at training and the fact I manage to do gives me a boost as after R died I was told I had social anxiety and I am overcoming it slowly!  MrR left his car in to be fixed the wires had come loose for the airbag or something so all it needed was a quick adjustment. An MOT wash and the car would be ready to go in on Wednesday.  I got home from Birmingham at 21:40 exhausted and ready to sleep but with just enough energy to post on the success of the Mia Tui bag I had used for my trip

Wednesday I was back at work and MrR brought the car in, it failed on the alignment of the headlight bulb so needs to go back in again. I have to try to organise that tomorrow.  K went to her swimming lessons and Buster watched.

Thursday was work and week 4 of the Home-start course I am so glad I made myself sign up to this as it is something I have wanted to do for so long, fingers crossed it works out.

Friday another day in work and chippy night at mum and dads tonight as long as my two are not exhausted.

Saturday I have a 12 mile walk planned for the morning but need to be ready to leave at 08:10 when MrR gets in from work.  As long as I’m not too tired I want to try to get my two out on their bikes

Sunday another walk planned only 8 miles this time for bright and early and then fingers crossed maybe ice skating with my two before going to mum and dads for Sunday dinner.

Hand luggage only?

I have started travelling quite often with work and as such have had to learn how to travel light or at least pack efficiently.  I never book hold luggage and as such have one bag for carry on luggage.  Even on a day trip I find it so hard to take one bag only as I hate having to use a laptop bag as my carry on luggage but at the same time the laptop is large and doesn’t fit my normal handbags.

Today I was away for a day trip and had to take my laptop and writing pad as well as notes with me and get them all in one bag.  My laptop bag is a boring standard one that came free, it has seen many better days and is really uncomfortable to carry for any length of time.

I was very kindly sent a Mia Tui bag to try as a hand luggage bag.  The style of bag I got sent was the Amelie mustard bag as seen here.

On first view I thought it looked very big, this was mainly as I was used to carrying tiny bags up to now and trying to shove them inside the before mentioned uncomfortable laptop bag.

Last night I packed the bag ready to go this morning, on the way out the door today I lifted the bag and left no stress over fitting everything in and plenty of room.

Once at the airport I went through security where I was able to get access to the laptop easily as well as using the small clear bag to hold my liquids.  There was no mad scramble and it was stress free I normally hate this part as I feel all fingers and thumbs trying to fit everything back in.

I carried the bag for at least an hour this morning and the same this evening and found it very comfortable the straps distributed the weight well and I didn’t end up with welts on my shoulders.

So what all did I fit in the bag?
  • my laptop
  • laptop charger
  • kindle
  • kindle charger
  • iPhone
  • iPhone charger
  • work mobile
  • dongle
  • headphones
  • make-up
  • purse
  • passport
  • packet of tissues x 2
  • piriton tablets
  • paracetamol tablets
  • cd
  • A4 file block
  • handouts
  • passport
  • change of tights
  • pens x 3

As you can see it all fitted in easily.  I found this bag fantastic and will be making it part of my luggage for all trips.

I was sent a Mia Tui bag for the purpose of the review but the thoughts expressed are entirely my own.

My new bags

I have not been paid for this review, I bought a new Mia Tui Ava bag just after Christmas and received a free Grace and love them so much I wanted to let others know about them.

I had up to now been carrying round a battered and bashed black Radley bag which to be honest looked a mess and no matter how formally dressed I was for work the bag let me down.  I also ended up carrying numerous extra bags and could never find anything in the bottom of the bag.  I often ended up having to tip everything out which was extremely embarrassing especially when the kids socks or pants fell out too(thankfully they were clean ones!)
Now my bags are sorted everything is in its place and can easily be found.  I have already converted my mum and my sister is set to order as soon as she gets paid.
I have copied in the official information below:

Mia Tui – The New Must Have Bags

Mia Tui has designed a range of bags that are for busy women everywhere. Stylish on the outside but so functional on the inside.
They come in three different styles,
Amelie which is the largest of the bags, great for travelling, for a stylish gym bag or days out.
Ava is a great work or baby bag as you have so many pockets and clips
Grace is the everyday bag you have been looking, wear across your body or take out the additional strap and its a traditional handbag.

It’s all about the inside

It’s the inside that counts with the Mia Tui bags, the fabric is water-proof inside and out and the brightly coloured interior always allows you to see in your bag.
Each bag comes with a bottle holder, clips for your keys, phone and pen pockets and a colour co-ordinating clutch bag for your personal items and two or three expandable pockets.
Depending on what style you go for you will get additional clear bags great for creams, make-up and liquids.
Never search at the bottom of your bag again for your keys or phone.
