I love shopping but haven’t had a chance to do much of it this year and so jumped at the chance to take part in a Britmums #shopsavykids challenge with TK Maxx. K and I were each given a gift voucher to go and shop!
We set off on our girly day and went to Belfast as that seemed the best idea to get the most up to date clothes. There wasn’t too much choice for K and we were up and down the stairs numerous times trying on items of clothes- the changing rooms were out of order apart from the ones on the ground floor .
We tried on 2 pairs of jeans for K, 2 blouses, a jumper and a dress and while trying them on discussed what she could wear them with, how much they cost and how much would be left out of her budget.
We ended up choosing a white blouse – I love the detailing on this and think it will be lovely with skinny jeans in any colour.
Next up was an animal print floaty blouse that we both loved for the colours – this will be worn with shorts and tights or jeans.
Lastly was a denim dress that I discounted so many times but K loved it and she was right. The dress is gorgeous on and could be layered with tights and a long sleeved t-shirt for the winter.
Once we had K sorted we moved on to me, K was in her element dragging the basket on wheels and choosing sparkling clothes for me. In the end I choose a black and cream belted dress and some skinny jeans
My thinking was that I could wear both together as per my photo below or separate them and wear the dress with tights and boots and the jeans in so many other ways.
I am now a convert to TK Maxx and will be back! My piece of advice is to make sure you have plenty of time otherwise it gets stressful and overwhelming!
We ended the day going out for lunch and K had a fantastic time! thanks TK Maxx and Britmums
