Although we loved Sunflowerfest it did have some negatives and as I like to be honest on my blog they were as below:
- A deposit for wheelbarrows can only be called a deposit if the money is returned otherwise it is a charge
- When sending people to Hillsborough to park and then get a shuttle bus back it is a good idea that the shuttle bus is actually running
- It is a bit much to give free parking to those who could park in the field on Friday but yet those who ended up parking in Hillsborough had to pay to park once they finally got to move their car.
- Signs telling people that Narnia needed to be booked in advance would have saved a lot of tears
- Disposable gloves for volunteers would have been good when picking up rubbish at the campfire stage
- Soap somewhere on site would have been great – although wipes and hand cleaners were in use here!
- Getting searched for alcohol on leaving- why? The fact we didn’t even bring any in so wouldn’t be leaving with any made it even more annoying
- Vegetarian food would have gone down well but a diet of chips was ok for a weekend
- A phone charger stall would have been handy
- hair braids that fall out immediately or the day after- those that waited until the Sunday were lucky to have saved their money
- I’m not even going to get started on the parking mayhem
- an absence of senior staff rather than volunteers especially at the gates or when things were going wrong.
