I have always hated concerts, I have no idea why but the few I have gone to I have enjoyed in as much as I liked the music but nothing would ever get me excited about booking tickets etc. In fact I haven’t been to a concert for probably 10 years!
Therefore when I suggested a couple of years ago that we should take K and Buster to a music festival MrR thought I had lost the plot. It was his idea of hell, putting up with me moaning, K and Buster moaning and spending loads of pounds of hard earned cash for the privilege.
Needless to say we never went.
Roll on a couple of years and we heard about a new local family friendly festival that my sister was attending and I started to nag work on MrR again. After some gentle persuasion he agreed and the tickets were bought.
I then decided to take it one step further and volunteer for the Kids zone within the festival- one of my plans was to do more voluntary stuff this year. I sent off all my forms and set off to the first meeting where I got lost and ended up coming home! The week after I went back again and this time found out I turned just seconds from the correct driveway- maddening!

I got to see around the site and it all sounds like it is going to be a fantastic weekend. There are camping tickets and day tickets and the full line up of bands can be found here. I don’t recognise many of the bands that will be playing but that isn’t unusual for me, I like songs but never know who is singing them
There will also be many things for the children to do and this will go a long way to keeping Buster and K entertained- a parent does have to stay with them at all times but for a worrier like me that is no issue.
The plan is to have a chill out area and complimentary therapies and workshops so when I’m not working I will be checking these out. The whole weekend kicks off with laughter therapy which sounds like something for the blog!
The festival is held on a working farm so wellies will be in order and I doubt any other footwear will last. No problem for me and my two but MrR is still to be convinced.
As for the monsters and mayhem that will be my two and my sisters three when they realise they can play in the mud and not get into bother! The fact it is so close to home makes it even better!
Go check out the website and see if this is something that will interest you!
I have not been paid for this post and have to date bought tickets however one will be refunded at the end of the festival once I have worked my shifts.
