London 2012 did we manage to get it right?

As a complete couch potato and even worse one who doesn’t watch TV I had so many preconceptions about the Olympics coming to London and how it would be managed.

The traffic and tubes would be a nightmare, things would be late, half done or not completed at all and we would end up being very much a laughing stock for all.

Two weeks on and I am so glad I can eat my words The opening ceremony in my mind was a success(yes I know many don’t think it was but the vast majority of people I have spoken to agreed with me) and the music and madness was just what we needed.   It was completely ‘Bonkers’ but then again the British are known for their weird sense of humor and it worked here!

I have been gripped to the TV and loved watching the cycling, swimming, diving, athletics and gymnastics – I have even watched some boxing, dressage, beach volleyball and handball and loved it all.  I kept up to date on the radio and loved listening to some of the rowing races and got caught up in all the excitement.

So many times I got goosebumps and felt the emotion of the competitors.  Thank you London 2012 you turned my opinion on it’s head and I loved every minute of the last two weeks.

The closing ceremony is now on and although parts are a bit confused and the sound on the TV seems to be a bit off I am watching and will keep watching to the end of the night.

London you have done us proud you did get it right and it can only be a good thing for the UK as a whole!

They were great and I was completely addicted all the way through. Can’t believe we have to wait another three years and 49 weeks before the next lot start :-(
