The sun shone at last!

School has been out for over two weeks and at last today on the 12th July we had a sunny bank holiday.  As most days have been rainy and cold we made the most of it and grabbed the chalk- bought just yesterday and went out to the driveway to do some art.  We ended up drawing and K did some sums- we can get school work brought into everything! Buster drew a road and a spiders web.

I drew out a wobbly hop-scotch and K then argued with me as to how I was doing it wrong and you aren’t meant to throw a stone as they don’t at school. Buster loved it and was so cute hopping about.

After this we came in and Buster and k had lunch followed by a nap for Buster.  He is still reacting badly and as such needs sleep, his rash kept appearing everytime he ate anything today.

After Buster woke up we went to a nearby wood forest and went on a bear hunt- we had been reading the book this morning.  Buster was a little worried we might find a real bear. In the end it turned into a nature walk where I showed K how some plants were sticky, we tested out buttercups and then found snails on plants.

After our walk we went visiting my mum and dad and then home for dinner and bed.

A lovely day and we got to make as much of it as possible.  Fingers crossed tomorrow is dry as it’s a bank holiday too!

the weather has been shocking but it looks like you did really well to get your day out. Chalk is a great idea for outdoor fun at home, I am sure mine would love to do this. They look so happy in the woods too, so much freedom and space to run around there and a little nature learning too, perfect. thank you for sharing your day on Country Kids.
