ISO

ISO in basic terms is how quickly the sensor reacts to light

In low lights use a higher ISO

  • 100               traditional studio setup very bright          less grain/noise
  • 200-400        daylight
  • 800               twilight
  • 1600             night ie full moon                                      lots of grain/noise

If you have artificial light sources then reduce your ISO

The lower down the ISO scale you go then the less grain/noise there will be in your picture

To capture light trails use a low ISO and a tripod over a longer period of time than normal ie : 20 seconds

I have decided that I am going to print all of these out and make a book. I am going to keep it in my camera bag so I always have your tips with me. They are great. Now all I need to do is get my lens fixed :(
