ISO in basic terms is how quickly the sensor reacts to light
In low lights use a higher ISO
- 100 traditional studio setup very bright less grain/noise
- 200-400 daylight
- 800 twilight
- 1600 night ie full moon lots of grain/noise
If you have artificial light sources then reduce your ISO
The lower down the ISO scale you go then the less grain/noise there will be in your picture
To capture light trails use a low ISO and a tripod over a longer period of time than normal ie : 20 seconds
