Felt Playhouse

I have yet again been on Pinterest and seen more craft projects I want to complete.  I fell in love with the felt playhouse shown below and decided that I would make Buster one of these for his birthday in May.

MrR agreed and so I set about measuring my table – (7ft long ekkk) and trying to work a design and what felt I need to order in what quantities.  I found felt online and a large parcel arrived yesterday.

Today was spent cutting out shapes, fruit veg, a dog’s head, kennel, post box, tree, sun, baskets etc all ready to start sewing.  I am already panicking about how much work it will be but as Buster saw the picture on my laptop one night and has asked for a tent with a door ever since I think it may be a good choice!

I’m hoping to have a tree with pickable apples and lemons on one side with a dog kennel on the other.  On the front will be a house with window box and flowers as well as grass along the bottom and a post box on one side of the door.  The remaining side fingers crossed will be a shop with a large window a canopy curtain and baskets containing fruit, veg, fish, meat and buns.  I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew.

Buster’s birthday party (gruffalo themed) will be on the 05th May and the marathon walk is on the 7th so I think I may need a week off to recover after the 8th!

I will take photos and if all works out will blog how I did it!

It sounds like it’s going to be amazing?! Was the felt expensive in that sort of quantity?
Please do post pictures of the stages …. You could link it to April #pinaddicts ;) x x

the felt was expensive but I costed it everywhere and finally decided to go for acrylic felt rather than a wool mix so that kept the cost down. i have loads of extra fabric but it cost me £38 for fabric and £15 for postage . I doubt I will have it done for pinaddicts but might try a smaller project for it:-) this can be May’s entry hopefully!

thank you, I will post pictures as I go as well as hopefully some basic instructions when it is done. I am making it as easy as possible as felt means no hemming:-)

That is going to be an amazing present! We couldn’t do that with our table as we have cross over legs, but how cool would it be.

I think I’m doing a Gruffalo party for The Boy as well, mind if I pin your stuff?
